The suffering church needs to know they do not stand alone. Also, to encourage them in their faith and walk with the Lord Jesus knowing their witness and suffering will be use by Him to Convict then convert some of the persecutors or bring a greater condemnation on them. The suffering saints may well become part of the Martyrs Choir in Heaven, Revelation 15:2,3.
