There is too much unnecessary plastic in this world – not just fruits and veges – in many different places (eg those toys with all of the plastic surrounding them and the plastic bits holding the plastic together). We need to do something.
I also have heard about how much food waste is about. I have heard that supermarkets just empty those packaged foods into the loose piles anyway when the expiry dates is close. Many people would be throwing away perfectly good fruit and veg just because the supermarket has put an arbitrary date on it.
