Our ecosystem does not have infinite resources. The entire system is dependent on the health of the greater, and depleting any part of it has catastrophic repercussions on the planet. Harvesting coral is ludicrous and completely unnecessary for our survival. This absolutely needs to be stopped in favour of restoration of the reef and its inhabitants.
