My son’s ex-partner’s father had Parkinson’s Disease. She cared for him, and her mother through Cancer, and the Dementia which beset both of them.
Those years left her completely drained, and in a state of complete breakdown for many months, after their respective deaths which occurred in reasonably quick succession.
I would not wish that on anyone, and the provision of help would have made life a lot easier for her.
