Plastic isn’t necessary on most things and why still give people plastic bags to put their apples in? Why not paper bags? I use the mushroom bags but then when I use the checkout I have to tell them to look in the bag! We need to teach people that you don’t need to put an apple in a plastic bag, just put it in your trolley and then in your shopping bag People are culpable as well as supermarkets.
