Because my Mum had Parkinsons and it was horrible watching her deteriorate and have many falls, particularly backwards. Mum had one last fall into the metal parts of the electric bed that we had bought for her and shortly after fell into a coma from which she never recovered. It was me who had to sign the papers to turn off my Mum’s life support and it us something that I will never forget – virtually a death warrant to die at 9 pm on a Friday night.
